Schwab Foundation Company Description

The Charles and Helen Schwab Foundation (CHSF) provides grants, research, and supportive activities for organizations that target substance abuse, homelessness, poverty, and learning disabilities. About half of the foundation's funding goes toward its Schwab Learning program, which assists families of children with learning disabilities. Unsolicited grant requests aren't accepted; rather, the organization's staff works with not-for-profit providers to select recipients. CHSF was formed in 2001 from the merger of the Schwab Family Foundation and the Schwab Foundation for Learning. Chairman Charles R. Schwab is the founder and chairman of The Charles Schwab Corporation.
