The materials mega-group controls more than 1,000 companies in three sectors: Building Distribution (plumbing, windows, and other building materials, anchored by Dahl International and Norandex in the US), Construction Products (insulation, gypsum, pipe, and other products), and Innovative Materials (flat glass and high-performance materials, including ceramics, polymers, and glass textiles). The company is divesting its packaging operations, which make glass bottles and containers for a variety of food, drink, and other products. Saint-Gobain dates to the 1660s, when it provided glass for Versailles.
