Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center, a Catholic Health Initiatives affiliate, is a 300-bed acute care hospital that serves the Lincoln, Nebraska, area. The hospital's services include a burn and wound care center, cardiac and pulmonary care, and cancer treatment; some 500 physicians are affiliated with the facility. The hospital also operates community health clinics, urgent care centers, and physical therapy clinics, as well as home health and hospice organizations. Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center was originally founded as a simple frontier hospital in 1889 by the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration.
