Sacred Heart Medical Center services the hearts, and other body parts, of the people of Washington state. Sacred Heart Medical Center is a network of medical facilities in eastern Washington. Services include an assisted-living residential facility for the elderly, a children's hospital, a heart institute, a kidney transplant program, psychiatric services, and a women's health center. The not-for-profit Catholic hospital was founded by the Sisters of Providence in 1886 and is part of the Providence Health System. One of the largest hospitals in the Northwest, the medical center has more than 620 beds.
