Sacramento Kings Company Description
These Kings hold court on the hardwood. The Sacramento Kings professional basketball team is one of the oldest franchises in the National Basketball Association, taking the court for the first time in New York as the Rochester Royals in 1945. Les Harrison started the team and coached the Royals to an NBA title in 1951, the only championship in the franchise's history. Afterward, the club turned vagabond and was known variously as the Cincinnati Royals, the Kansas City-Omaha Kings, and the Kansas City Kings until Gregg Lukenbill bought the team and moved it to Sacramento, California, in 1985. Brothers Joe and Gavin Maloof bought the team in 1998 through their Maloof Sports and Entertainment.
