Rural Press Limited (RPL) has the heartland at heart. The company publishes 160 regional and metropolitan newspapers throughout Australia. RPL's agricultural division publishes more than 60 newspapers and magazines for markets in Australia, New Zealand, and (through subsidiary Farm Progress Companies) the US. The company's printing division operates 16 web-fed printing sites. In addition, the company owns more than 20 radio licenses in Australia. RPL's first publication, The Land, was founded in 1911. The company was acquired by rival publisher Fairfax Media Limited in 2007.
