Rostelecom Company Description
Rostelecom did well by bidding do svidanya to full state ownership. With a large share of Russia's long-distance and international phone service market, the telecommunications carrier mainly provides services to some 90 regional phone companies and links their networks together. Rostelecom transmits voice and data using terrestrial and undersea fiber-optic cable, digital microwave relay, and satellites. Its other services include television broadcasting, videophone connections, and Internet access. State telecom holding company Svyazinvest owns 50.7% of Rostelecom.
