In Argentina, it's not unusual to see people make their way around the pampas in a Renault. Renault Argentina, formerly Ciadea, is the leading vehicle maker in Argentina. With plants in Argentina and Brazil, it competes with Ford, Fiat, Volkswagen, and Peugeot Citroën for market share by producing automobiles that cater to local tastes. It also makes auto parts for sale in country and for export to other South American countries. Renault models made in Argentina include the Clio, Kangoo, and Symbol. The subsidiary is part of the Renault-Nissan Purchasing Organization (RNPO), along with South Africa, India, Morocco, Spain, Mexico, and Russia. Renault became sole owner of Renault Argentina in late 2005.
