Readymix plc Company Description
Readymix produces and delivers aggregates (sand, stone, and gravel), ready-mixed concrete, and mortar. It also makes ready-mix concrete and concrete blocks used primarily in the construction industry. Readymix provides materials to residential builders but, in light of a downturn in the housing market, has set its sights on government-funded infrastructure projects. The company has about 60 locations and operates in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the Isle of Man. In 2007 the company sold its Finlay Breton precast concrete business to Acheson & Glover; it also closed down its roof tiles and pipes business units. CEMEX controls the company.
