RDO Equipment Company Description
RDO Equipment herds Deere in a big way. RDO distributes, sells, rents, services, and finances equipment and new and used trucks and heavy equipment to agricultural, construction, manufacturing, transportation, and warehousing industry customers. The company operates about 60 retail stores in nine states, a dozen of which are Vermeer (agriculture and earth-moving equipment) stores. RDO sells heavy-duty Volvo, GMC, Isuzu, and Mack trucks through its Hall Truck Centers, and regular GM vehicles through its Offutt Motors. Chairman Ronald Offutt founded the company in 1968, took it public in 1997, and returned it to private ownership in 2003.
