Raytel Company Description

Raytel Medical specializes in affairs of the heart. The company's Raytel Diagnostic Services unit operates cardiac imaging facilities in New Jersey and Pennsylvania; it also runs a preferred provider network of imaging labs for insurance companies and operates outpatient cardiac catheterization and nuclear imaging labs for hospitals and cardiology practices. In 2007 the company sold its Raytel Cardiac Services division to Philips Medical (part of electronics conglomerate Philips) for about $110 million. That division specialized in remote pacemaker monitoring, cardiac-event detection, and Holter (portable ECG) monitoring. Raytel Medical is a subsidiary of Israeli firm SHL TeleMedicine.
