PT Multimedia holds a web of services for its parent company, Portugal Telecom. TV Cabo offers pay-TV services, including cable TV and direct-to-home satellite broadcasting, as well as cable-modem based broadband Internet access, to nearly 1.5 million subscribers. More than 600,000 subscribers dial up the Internet using PTM.com and seek information on the Sapo portal service. The company also has nearly 350,000 broadband customers. PT Multimedia sold subsidiary Lusomundo (Portugal's leading media company with holdings including newspapers, magazines, news radio, and cinema) to media group Olivedesportos for $396 million in early 2005. Cogeco Cable pursued acquiring the company in 2007.
