Subprime or not, PRIMEDIA is there to help renters find a residence. The firm publishes and distributes free residential real estate guides Apartment Guide and New Home Guide. PRIMEDIA also offers Web versions of the guides, and operates Rentals.com, a paid listings site for residential rental properties. PRIMEDIA's distribution operation, DistribuTech, helps the company's titles reach approximately 50,000 locations in some 40 US states and more than 70 US markets. The company discontinued its Auto Guides division in 2008. The unit was PRIMEDIA's last non-real estate holding to be divested. Investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts owns about 60% of the company.
