Prairie Farms Dairy is very cooperative. With some 700 dairy farmer/members, Prairie Farms is one of the largest dairy cooperatives in the US's Midwest and mid-Southern regions. It is the managing partner for joint ventures with smaller dairies (Hiland Dairy, Hiland-Roberts Ice Cream, Madison Farms Butter, Muller-Pinehurst Dairy, Roberts Dairy, and Turner Dairy). Prairie Farms turns its raw milk into fresh, cultured, and frozen dairy products under the Prairie Farms label. It also makes juices and ice cream novelties. The company's customers include retail food stores, schools, institutional and other foodservice clients. Prairie Farms makes its products at 24 co-op-owned plants and 13 joint-venture plants.
