Overview
"Potlatch" is Chinook for giving, but you'll have to pay for Potlatch's wood products. The real estate investment trust (REIT) harvests timber from its 1.6 million acres of forestland located in Arkansas, Idaho, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. It processes and sells wood and panel products, mainly to wholesalers. Potlatch operates a half-dozen manufacturing facilities that produce plywood, particleboard, and lumber. The company operates through three business segments: Wood Products (lumber, plywood, and particleboard), Resource (timberland management), and Real Estate (land sales and acquisitions).
