Plug Power Company Description
Plug Power wants to give power to the people. The company develops on-site power generation systems for commercial and residential dwellings and for automotive applications. Plug Power uses proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells to generate electricity from hydrogen gas without combustion. Through a joint venture with Honda R&D Co. (a subsidiary of Honda Motor), Plug Power is developing a Home Energy Station. The home refueling system is a fuel cell, fueled by natural gas, which provides electricity, heat, and hot water in a residence, while also supplying the hydrogen fuel required to power a vehicle.
