Pittsburgh Penguins Company Description

These Penguins do their thing on the ice in downtown Pittsburgh, not the Antarctic. The Pittsburgh Penguins hockey franchise represents the Steel City in the National Hockey League. The team, formed in 1967, brought home two Stanley Cup championships in 1991 and 1992 but has endured a long championship drought since. Despite its struggles on the ice, the Pens have remained popular among loyal fans, and the debut of rookie Sidney Crosby in 2006 has helped boost wins as well as ticket sales at Mellon Arena (better known as "The Igloo"). Legendary forward Mario Lemieux controls the team through the Lemieux Group.
