Pittsburgh Glass Works Company Description
Pittsburgh Glass Works (formerly PPG Auto Glass) can't help you if you've got a chip on your shoulder, but its business is to be all over a chip in your car's windshield. It supplies automotive OEM windshields, rear and side windows, sunroofs, and assemblies to automakers such as Daimler, as well as replacement auto glass products for use in aftermarket applications. It also provides insurance claim services through its LYNX Services subsidiary, glass management software through its GTS unit, and e-business solutions through its GLAXIS division. Former parent PPG Industries sold its controlling interest in the firm to an affiliate of funds managed by Kohlberg & Company in 2008 for about $270 million.
