The company operates live production and processing facilities in about 15 US states through its some 2,250 contracted poultry farmers. The Perdue Farms division processes and packs 3 billion pounds of chicken and 268 million pounds of turkey a year. Perdue sells poultry through retail food outlets and to foodservice customers, most of which are located in the eastern half of the US; the company also exports worldwide. Its Perdue Agribusiness unit processes grain for animal feed and pet food ingredients, makes vegetable oils, and manufactures fertilizer and renewable fuel.
