Paramount Vantage Company Description

Independent cinema looks good from Paramount's vantage point. Paramount Vantage, the specialty film division of Viacom-owned Paramount Pictures, releases art-house films such as A Mighty Heart, Into the Wild, and There Will Be Blood. On average, the studio puts out about 10 movies a year. The company was founded in 1998 as Paramount Classics. In 2006 the studio reorganized its specialty label, renaming it Paramount Vantage. Paramount Classics remains a division within Paramount Vantage, releasing foreign-language films and documentaries, such as the unexpected hit An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore's documentary about global warming.
