Overview
Pacer International wants to move freight at the right pace. The logistics provider's flagship business, Pacer Stacktrain, arranges intermodal transportation (movement of containerized freight by road and rail). Stacktrain's largely leased fleet includes rail cars that carry containers stacked two high along with the chassis used to transport containers on the road. Sister company Pacer Cartage provides local road transportation of the containers in major markets while Pacer Transportation Solutions arranges door-to-door rail and trucking service. The company's logistics segment provides services such as freight brokerage, freight forwarding, and supply chain management for shippers.
