Overview
One of California's oldest law firms, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe was instrumental in developing one of the state's best-known landmarks -- the Golden Gate Bridge. Among its practice areas are public finance (a linchpin of the firm's reputation), litigation, securities, tax, and intellectual property. Orrick has some 1,100 lawyers in more than 20 offices in the US, the Asia/Pacific region, and Europe. The firm's client list has included such big names as IBM, Charles Schwab, and Salomon Smith Barney. Orrick was founded in 1863 as Jarboe, Harrison & Goodfellow.
