A subsidiary of Rollins, Orkin and its sister companies provide insect, rodent, and termite control services to more than 1.6 million commercial and residential customers, mainly in the US but also elsewhere in the Americas, Asia, and in the Middle East. Together with its affiliates, Orkin has more than 400 branch offices. The company offers its services under the Acurid, Orkin, PCO Services, and Western Pest Services brand names. Orkin was founded in 1901 by Otto Orkin, who launched his extermination empire by selling rat killer door-to-door; his efforts earned him the nickname "Orkin the Rat Catcher."
