Orbital Sciences Company Description
Orbital Sciences would maintain that what goes up doesn't have to come down -- at least not for a long time. The company makes low-level earth orbit, planetary, and other satellites used for communications, remote sensing, and scientific purposes. Orbital Sciences also manufactures small and medium-class launch vehicles used to get satellites into orbit, as well as launch vehicles for suborbital rockets used to test missile defense systems. Its Advanced Space Programs division develops human-rated space and launch systems and satellites primarily used for national security programs. The US government and its contractors account for more than 70% of the company's sales.
