Company Description

Traversing land and sea, Trailer Bridge connects the continental US, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic. The company's oceangoing barges, designed to carry shipping containers, sail between Jacksonville, Florida, and the two islands. Southbound shipments, which represent about 75% of the freight transported, include raw materials, consumer goods, furniture, and vehicles. Trailer Bridge's land-based assets move freight within the US and abroad. Its fleet comprises some 140 tractors, 500 dry van trailers and car carriers, 3,960 high-cube containers, and 3,150 chassis including two roll-on/roll-off (ro/ro) multiuse barges and two container barges. Trailer Bridge emerged from Chapter 11 proceedings in 2012.
