Company Description

South Jersey Health (SJH) System, doing business as South Jersey Healthcare, is happy to be stuck in the middle: The company operates health care facilities in an area midway between Atlantic City and Philadelphia. Some of those New Jersey facilities include the SJH Regional Medical Center, a 260-bed facility with specialty cancer and diagnostic centers, the 100-bed SJH Elmer Hospital, and the 60-bed SJH Bridgeton mental health and hospice facility. SJH also offers outpatient care, home care services, and a network of community-based health clinics and wellness programs. The company originated in 1898 as Bridgeton Hospital. In 2012 SJH agreed to merge with Underwood-Memorial Health Systems (UMHS).
