Company Description

ORIX USA is not quite Godzilla, but it is another monstrous Japanese export. Like its overseas parent, ORIX Corporation, ORIX USA provides a wide spectrum of financial products and services to businesses. The company provides corporate finance for small and midsized businesses, investment banking and advisory services, and investing in commercial mortgage-backed securities. It owns Los Angeles-based investment bank Houlihan Lokey. In 2010 ORIX USA made a move into the asset management game when it bought a majority interest in New York-based Mariner Investment Group, which oversees hedge funds and other alternative investments. It has nearly $12 billion of assets under management.
