ORBCOMM uses its fleet of 29 low-Earth-orbit (LEO) satellites to help customers keep an eye on their earthbound assets. The system's two-way data transmission capabilities enable users to track vehicles and mobile equipment, monitor fixed assets such as utility meters and pipelines, and communicate with mobile and remote workers around the globe. It also provides machine-to-machine (M2M) communications and telematics services. Key clients include heavy equipment makers General ElectricCaterpillar, and Komatsu.
