Unlike the Dodgers, Lutheran HealthCare isn't leaving Brooklyn. The health care system takes care of patients in the New York City borough through a network which includes Lutheran Medical Center (LMC), the Lutheran Augustana Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation, and numerous neighborhood clinics and nursing homes. Lutheran HealthCare also operates Health Plus, a medical insurance plan with 300,000 members, and Community Care Organization, a home health program. LMC is a 480-bed tertiary care teaching hospital affiliated with the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn, as well as other university medical programs.
