Company Description

Lake Area Corn Processors produces ethanol and its byproduct, distillers grains, which are used in livestock feed. Through its Dakota Ethanol unit, the company produces about 48 million gallons of ethanol per year. Dakota Ethanol had worked in tandem with Broin Companies, a manufacturer of ethanol processing plants, until Lake Area Corn Processors bought out Broin's minority stake in Dakota Ethanol in 2006. The following year, the company acquired a stake in its ethanol distributor, Renewable Products Marketing Group. Lake Area Corn Processors is owned by its 1,000 members.
