Company Description

Even more luz than it is LUS, Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) operates the electricity generation, transmission, and distribution; water production and distribution; and wastewater collection and treatment assets of the City of Lafayette, Louisiana. The utility provides electricity to more than 57,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers, and it delivers water to more than 47,000 customers. LUS' four generating stations produce about 740 MW of generating capacity. The company operates more than 828 miles of power distribution line, and more than 957 miles of water distribution pipeline. LUS is also building a fiber-optic network to offer competitive telephone, cable, and Internet access services.
