Company Description

J.R. Simplot hopes you'll have fries with that. Potato potentate J. R. "Jack" Simplot simply shook hands with McDonald's pioneer Ray Kroc in the mid-1960s and his company's french fry sales have sizzled ever since. Simplot still remains the major french fry supplier for McDonald's and supplies Burger King, and Wendy's as well. Along with potatoes, J.R. Simplot produces fruits and vegetables under the RoastWorks and Simplot Classic labels. It owns and operates more than 80,000 acres on over 30 farms located in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. It produces more than 3.0 billion pounds of frozen french fries and formed potatoes annually, making it one of the world's largest processors of frozen potatoes.
