Company Description

Isilon Systems isn't daunted by the ever-expanding digital world. The company's network-attached storage (NAS) systems are designed for businesses with digital imaging and content delivery operations. Its modular Isilon IQ nodes, which use the proprietary OneFS operating software, store and deliver large digital files such as photos, video, and audio content. Many of its customers are media companies, but Isilon also markets its products to health care providers, oil and gas firms, and government agencies. Customers have included Sony, Myspace, NASA, NBC, and Paramount Pictures. Isilon was acquired in late 2010 by EMC in a deal valued at about $2.25 billion.
