Company Description

Irby Construction kicks high voltage into gear. The electrical contractor is a leader in power line construction. It also builds transmission and distribution systems and substations in rural US and international locations, including Central America. Services include stringing of conductors, erecting pole lines, and providing emergency manpower and equipment. Stuart Irby Sr. founded the company in 1919 as Stuart C. Irby Company, a wholesale electrical supplier and contractor that erected power lines throughout the Southeast under the aegis of the Rural Electrification Administration during the 1930s. Irby Construction is now a unit of specialized contracting services provider Quanta Services.
