Company Description

Interoute is an autobahn for communications in Europe. The company operates one of Europe's leading fiber-optic networks, which connects about 100 cities in about 25 countries using 60,000 km (more than 37,000 miles) of cable. Interoute's offerings include broadband Internet access and transmission, media streaming, managed hosting, voice services and Virtual Private Network (VPN) services. The company also operates metropolitan area networks in 21 selected European citites. Wholesale customers include BT, Telecom Italia, and VSNL; enterprise customers include AirbusNintendo, and Sony. Interoute's largest shareholder is the Sandoz Family Foundation, which was established by the son of the founder of Sandoz Ltd.
