International Shipholding helps put the car in cargo. Most of the company's sales come from its time-charter vessels, including car and truck carriers, ships with strengthened hulls (used in polar regions), and coal and sulfur carriers. Its fleet consists of some 40 US and international-flag vessels. Customers have included Toyota, Hyundai Motor, Freeport-McMoRan's P.T. Freeport Indonesia, International Paper, and the US Navy's Military Sealift Command. International Shipholding's
primary subsidiaries are Central Gulf Lines, Waterman Steamship Corp., LCI Shipholdings, CG Railway, Enterprise Ship Co., and East Gulf Shipholding. The company has offices in Mobile, Alabama; New York City; Singapore; and Shanghai.
