Company Description

With a new name, new headquarters, new production facility, and new success, good times are surely in store for ... Instore plc. Formerly named Brown & Jackson, the company operates about 325 discount stores under the Instore, Poundstretcher (aka £Stretcher), and Ponden Mill (acquired in 2007) banners throughout the UK. The stores offer housewares, home furnishings and decor, stationery, textiles, toys, pet products, and family clothing and accessories, all at discount prices. Stung by slumping sales in the UK's hotly competitive discount retail market, the firm has been closing dilapidated Poundstretcher stores and converting some to the Instore name. Instore is controlled by wholesaler Crown Crest.
