Company Description

Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group (Yili Group) manufactures milk products. Its products include fluid milk, milk powder, yogurt, cheese, as well as iced treats. The Chinese firm has processing sites in Inner Mongolia, Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Heilongjiang, Hebei, Shanxi, Guangdong, and Xinjiang. Yili was founded in 1993 and trades on the Shanghai stock exchange. In 2005 the Yili name became tainted with scandal when five of its senior executives were convicted of misappropriation of public funds; in 2008 it was involved in the melamine-tainted baby milk scandal.
