If you're going by bus, Greyhound Lines just might be the biggest dog on the track. The company is the largest provider of intercity bus transportation in North America, reaching more than 2,300 destinations and carrying about 25 million passengers per year. It mainly serves routes in the US but also carries passengers traveling to and from Canada and Mexico. Some markets are served via partnerships with independent bus lines that link to smaller towns along Greyhound's national route. In addition to its scheduled passenger service, Greyhound offers charter and express package delivery services. Founded in 1914, the company is an operating division of FirstGroup America, a subsidiary of UK-based FirstGroup plc.
