Company Description

Golden Peanut Company (GPC) shells and processes peanuts for retail and commercial distribution to customers worldwide. Its products include raw shelled and in-shell peanuts, as well as peanut-derived ingredients: flour, oil, extract, and seed. GPC's peanut lineup is sold to snack-food makers, industrial food manufacturers, and animal-food makers. Its seeds are sold to commercial farmers and home gardeners. The firm also processes other farmers' peanut crops. GPC serves growers in the southeastern and southwestern US, and in Argentina. Founded in 1986, GPC was a 50/50 joint venture of Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) and Alimenta (USA) until year-end 2010, when ADM bought out the venture and gained control of GPC.
