Company Description

Global Thermoelectric would like to tip the balance of power (generation) in their favor. The company makes thermoelectric generators that do not have moving parts, so they need little maintenance and provide reliable power for remote locations. Sold to companies around the world, the generators are used to power remote-control monitoring sites of pipelines, offshore platforms, telecom and surveillance installations, and similar facilities. Global Thermoelectric was founded in 1975 when its founders purchased the thermoelectric technology from 3M. The technology was originally developed for NASA and used to generate power on the moon. Private equity firm Rockwood Equity Partners owns Global Thermoelectric.
