Company Description

Singularly, General Electric is the world's #1 maker of jet airplane engines, while Honda is primarily known for automobiles -- together, the two giants have revved up to build engines for small jets. Their joint venture, GE Honda Aero Engines (a 50/50 joint venture between GE Aviation and Honda Aero) was formed in 2004 to produce engines in the 1,000 to 3,500 pound thrust class for business jets that seat up to eight passengers. Its first product is the HF120, a 2,000-pound compact turbofan engine for very light jets; testing began in 2009. GE Honda Aero Engines operates facilities in Ohio and North Carolina and offers services, including maintenance, repair, and overhaul, as well as spare engine leasing.
