Company Description

Emmis Communications is into communicating -- whether it's through the radio or magazines. It owns and operates more than 20 radio stations serving more than a half dozen markets in the US, including clusters of stations in Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York City. Emmis also owns Network Indiana, which syndicates programming to more than 70 affiliate stations, and it has radio stations in Belgium and other parts of Europe. In addition to broadcasting, the company owns a portfolio of regional magazines and specialty publications, including Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Texas Monthly. CEO Jeffrey Smulyan controls about 70% of Emmis.
