Company Description

Emirates Telecommunications (Etisalat) provides telecommunication services in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and beyond. The company connects about 8 million subscribers over its wireless network in the UAE and millions more across 18 countries in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia through subsidiaries and affiliates. It also provides fixed-line service, Internet access, and data service, as well as wholesale network services to other carriers. Etisalat's total subscribers for all services number more than 100 million. Its EVision unit provides digital cable TV and its E-Marine division installs and maintains submarine communications cables in the Persian Gulf. The UAE government owns about 60% of the company.
