Company Description

This Clearing House doesn't deliver gigantic checks to your door but, if you're a merchant, it could determine if that big check you received from a customer is legit. Electronic Clearing House (ECHO) provides transaction and processing services related to credit and debit card payments. Its XpressCheX and National Check Network (NCN) units provide check-related services, including authorization, guarantee, conversion, collection, and verification; the NCN database compiles consumer checking account data from more than 250 collection agencies. ECHO's clients include more than 100,000 retail merchants, as well as banks and technology firms. The company was acquired by Intuit for about $131 million in 2008.
