Company Description

DuPont Agriculture is into seed and weed. One of the largest of DuPont's business segments (about a quarter of parent company revenues), DuPont Agriculture consists mainly of the Pioneer Hi-Bred International (Pioneer) company and the DuPont Crop Protection division. Pioneer-brand seed products are aimed at increasing crop yields and productivity. Pioneer also produces corn hybrid and soybean varieties and sells products such as canola, sunflower, wheat, and rice. DuPont Crop Protection produces established brands of herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides. Most of the business segment's sales occur in the first half of the year due to seasonal cropping and weather patterns.
