Company Description

Compellent Technologies takes a byte out of data storage woes. Storage Center, the company's main product, is a storage area network (SAN) system that enables users to deposit, recover, and manage large amounts of data. It is used by customers worldwide in such industries as education, financial services, government, health care, insurance, retail, and transportation. Third-party hardware maintenance provider Anacomp offers storage equipment, network device, and peripheral repair services to Compellent's end users. Most of the company's sales are made in the US. Compellent was acquired in 2011 by PC and server maker Dell for about $940 million.
