Company Description

Cementir - Cementerie del Tirreno SpA is working to build a concrete future. The company makes and sells Portland cement as well as concrete and related products, such as composite concretes made for use in blast furnaces and other applications. Founded in 1947, it sells products primarily to sister companies in the Caltagirone group, of which Cementir is a subsidiary. Its cement is used in water projects, bridges, and dams as well as in roads, tunnels, and other infrastructure. Cementir also has operations in Turkey, Denmark, China, and other international locations. Through various subsidiaries and holdings, chairman Francesco Caltagirone (also chairman of Caltagirone) controls more than 60% of the company.
