Company Description

Cantor Index, a division of Cantor Fitzgerald, offers online, real-time financial spread betting on stock indices, equities, currencies, commodities, and bond futures. (A spread is a quote between the bid and offer prices for a security or other financial instrument; on Cantor Index, investors "bet" on whether the price of the security will meet, exceed, or fall below a specified price based on the spread.) The company also offers equities traded on margin (contracts for difference, or CFDs) and fixed-odds sports betting. Trading is conducted through another Cantor Fitzgerald affiliate, BGC Partners. Popular in the UK, financial spread betting is illegal for US residents. Cantor Index was founded in 2000.
