Company Description

Fore! Besides making and selling its Bridgestone brand name of golf balls, golf clubs, and other golfing accessories, Bridgestone Sports also makes tennis and badminton balls and rackets. Since launching its Altus brand of solid golf balls in 1982, the firm has produced more than 100 million dozen balls. Years 1997 and 1998 brought product launches for Access and Tour Stage golf clubs, respectively. Its US subsidiary, Bridgestone Golf, produces the Precept and Bridgestone brands of golf gear. Bridgestone Sports has plants in China, Malaysia, and the US. Established in 1972 as Bridgestone Spalding, the company changed its name to Bridgestone Sports in 1977.
